The Trexo system.
A guide to every move.

This diagram shows a VISCA setup with Controller Gate. For CAN Bus alone, only Trexo Link is required. Select a number to explore the connections.

01Controller Gate

Required for VISCA controller input, alongside a CAN Bus connection through Trexo Link. Controller Gate is not required for CAN Bus alone. In this VISCA diagram, its CAN OUT starts the chain.

Explore wired control
02Trexo Link · base motion

This receiver connects the CAN chain to the illustrated Axis 1.0 or SlideKit base. Hulka also supports CAN Bus through Trexo Link. CAN IN receives the chain; CAN OUT continues to the next module. The separate OUT connects to the motion device.

See the two setups
03Trexo Link · lift motion

The second receiver shown here connects to the lift module. Its CAN ports continue the chain while its separate output carries control to the lift.

04Axis Bridge

Connects a supported DJI gimbal to the system. In the illustrated setup, the chain ends at its CAN IN and the DJI RSA connection runs to the gimbal. Use the Bridge guide for your gimbal model.

TREXO LINK / CAN BUS

Trexo Link. Connected motion.

CAN Bus connects Axis 1.0, SlideKit and Hulka through Trexo Link. VISCA controller integration is a separate option that requires this CAN Bus connection plus Controller Gate.

Before you connect your system

CAN ports are not Ethernet. Use a standard RJ45 patch cable from CAN OUT to the next device’s CAN IN. Never connect the chain to a router or network switch.

Use the connection guide for your devices and modules before powering on.

CONNECT THE SYSTEM

From separate tools
to a connected setup.

Use Trexo Link for CAN Bus on Axis 1.0, SlideKit or Hulka. Add Controller Gate only when you want to integrate a compatible VISCA controller.

  1. 01

    Choose the motion.

Start with Axis 1.0, SlideKit or Hulka. Choose Trexo Link for CAN Bus; add Controller Gate for VISCA control.

    Choose your setup
  2. 02

    Follow the CAN chain.

Connect CAN OUT to the next module’s CAN IN. Keep the chain continuous through the middle receivers.

    CAN OUTCAN IN
  3. 03

    Connect each output.

The receivers’ separate outputs go to the motion and lift devices. Axis Bridge connects to a supported gimbal through the interface shown in its guide.

    Review the diagram
  4. 04

    Configure. Test. Repeat.

Follow your product’s CAN Bus setup instructions, select the required control mode and confirm each movement with a short test before recording a full move.

    Watch the connection guide

The RJ45 connectors shown here carry CAN Bus signals. They are not Ethernet ports; do not connect them to a router or network switch.

TWO WAYS TO BUILD

Start with your system.

Explore a setup and a practical shot example for each motion platform.

AXIS 1.0 / EXAMPLE SETUP

A moving base.
A coordinated frame.

Build around Axis Drive for linear or curved motion on the floor. Add Axis Lift for height changes and Axis Bridge for a supported DJI gimbal.

TRY THIS SHOT

Plan a slow approach to a product, then introduce a height change to reveal its top surface. Test the base, lift and framing before combining the move.

SLIDEKIT / EXAMPLE SETUP

Build the track.
Shape the move.

Use SlideKit on a supported rail or pipe setup for controlled slides. Add the lift module for height transitions and Axis Bridge when the shot calls for compatible gimbal control.

TRY THIS SHOT

Set a short slide across a tabletop product. Refine the framing and timing, then repeat the same movement as you change the lighting or product arrangement.

Example configurations. Choose modules and gimbal connections for your specific hardware; see each product’s guide for setup and compatibility.

01 APP CONTROL

Build the move. See it take shape.

Use the SlideKit app to set up your shot, program motion and run it again. The timeline brings the move into view, while the joystick lets you adjust your framing.

Prefer working without a phone? SlideKit also gives you an onboard menu for key settings and motion control.

04 LIFT MODULE

Add another dimension.

Add the Lift Module to bring height changes into your SlideKit setup. Use the lift’s up-and-down travel for reveals and transitions between framing heights.

Watch the installation guide before configuring a vertical or inclined setup.

05 VISCA & CAN BUS

CAN Bus connects. VISCA adds controller input.

CAN Bus: Connect Axis 1.0, SlideKit or Hulka with Trexo Link. Controller Gate is not required for CAN Bus alone.

VISCA: To use a compatible VISCA controller, you need a CAN Bus connection through Trexo Link and Controller Gate. Controller Gate brings the VISCA controller input into the CAN Bus system.

06 MOTION TIME-LAPSE

Let time become part of the shot.

Turn a linear or multipoint path into a motion time-lapse with Axis 1.0. Plan the camera’s movement through the scene, then let the motion unfold over time.

Wheels Go also offers a time-lapse mode for its linear, circular and multipoint paths.

APP LIBRARY

Put the controls in your hands.

Download the app that matches your Trexo device. Use it to pair, configure, program, record and replay motion on set.

ON SET CHECKLIST

Ready in four checks.

  1. Connect CAN OUT to the next device’s CAN IN.
  2. Set every device in the chain to CAN Bus mode.
  3. Keep the chain unbroken; use both ports on middle devices.
  4. Power on, then open the Trexo app or controller workflow.
